How Have you Beam?
Warning the fluorescent overhead lights are on.Hhssssssssss!
Hey! You may have noticed a new addition as you walk into my office! I am incredibly grateful and endlessly thankful to Rebecca Rey of REY architecture, a lovely local crafts-person (I did not include their name as they requested privacy , cuz internet…respect) and my partner, who kindly took on this project. They were definitely an amazing, talented, knowledgeable and creative group of people. Each person had so much patience and kindness, listened to all of the requirements for the bars to be a custom fit for me, designed and fit them to a very uniquely shaped room/vortex of relaxation, and were able to understand my vision/ideas.
I have had so many conversations, consultations, a few tears and I wasn’t entirely sure this would ever even happen. I kept picking myself up and dusting myself off and forged ahead knowing this would be beneficial for me and allow me to practice massage for many more years., I just needed to find the right folks! I am forever grateful to my partner for their ability to show up, their endless support and love, and participating in so many brainstorming sessions about design and installation.
I would also like to thank me, because I never gave up on my myself. Some said it was impossible. I kept fucking going and believed it was possible. To quote the Dr Teeth and The Muppets- “You Can’t Take No for an Answer. You gotta hang on to your optimistic outlook and keep possession of your positive state of mind.”
My favorite quote during installation day was, “Catie, it’s your world and we are just living in it.” You know it!!!
